Amazon web services inc. (AWS) announced the entry into the world of chatops with its first AWS chatbot for managing AWS Deployments through interactive agents and notifications.
With the growing demand and trend of Devops and DevSecOps in the industry,There is a clear demand for managing,monitoring continuous delivery pipeline,continuous delivery workflows in real time to respond proactively in the events of critical alerts the servers send to developers.
AWS Chatbot is in very early stages and in beta version,Initially it supports Amazon Chime,Slack chatbots,where AWS Chatbot integration happens with Slack,Amazon Chime.Real time notifications will be securely sent directly to the chat rooms in Slack and Chime.The developers can respond directly to systems alerts,check the commands suggestions given by AWS chatbot in real time within Slack or Chime,hence saving a lot of time and improves productivity.
AWS Chatbot is a new service that makes it easy to set up ChatOps for AWS in your Amazon Chime or Slack chat rooms,” AWS said in a July 24 announcement. “AWS Chatbot provides an interactive agent that enables you to monitor and interact with your AWS resources from team chat rooms. You can receive alerts and execute commands to return diagnostic information so your team can collaborate and respond to events faster. AWS Chatbot is in beta with support for receiving notifications in your chat room.”
Initially Amazon web services AWS Chatbot supports these following AWS services
The beta service can currently receive notification from these AWS services:
- Amazon CloudWatch
- AWS Health
- AWS Budgets
- AWS Security Hub
- Amazon GuardDuty
- AWS CloudFormation
